In the first part of this week, I represented Novell at the 2007 SWsoft Global Hosting Partner Summit in Reston VA. Novell was a Gold sponsor along with AMD and Intel.  This is the annual event for SWsoft – a company that specializes in hosting provider software. They are perhaps best known for their virtualization products: Virtuozzo and Parallels.

There were roughly 200 attendees from around the world, and they heard from speakers on a variety of topics including Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Market observations in the hosting industry, as well as technical and business tracks pertaining to specific SWsoft products. It was a very nice event and everyone I spoke to seemed to enjoy meeting their peers, vendor sponsors (such as Novell) and other industry experts.  Novell and SWsoft recently announced the start of a partnership which should benefit both companies in the coming months and years.

We offered our stuffed penguins with the Novell logo on them – and of course they were a hit with all attendees.
