Automaker Peugot is nearly ready to begin deploying the SLED (SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop) to 20,000 of it’s 72,000 users, including salesforce and manufacturing workers.  Peugot has an Active Directory and MS Office environment, which SLED and it’s Novell-supported version of OpenOffice.org will be integrated into.

The ease and user-friendly-ness of the SLED desktop will not require any special expertise to use or administer, according to Guy Lunardi, Product Manager:

“No extra people have been hired for the project. The new desktops do not require any special training, except for a quick, double page set of explanations,”
